New Dining Concepts
These resorts are home to many new dining concepts. The latest new options are American Tavern that has traditional “American” food and Chi Asia Fusion. Chi was amazing! It combines flavors from all over Asia. The sushi was great, the ribs were amazing (we ordered a second round), and the salmon and duck entrees were also fantastic. I would definitely put that on your list.
They also added two new wellness-focused restaurants. Greenhouse is a sit down location that offers breakfast and dinner with a farm to table focus. The restaurant is light, airy, and feels refreshing. The menu is delicious as well. For a quick option, next door is Heart and Sol. This location is open for breakfast and lunch and has a juice bar, smoothies, salads, and sandwiches. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and it is right by the South Seas pool, nestled in a quiet section of the resort near the spa.
Lastly, and maybe my favorite, is the new rooftop area that has a delicious French restaurant that offers breakfast and dinner. There is the Sky Bar that is open most of the day and evening to serve the area, including the pool and hot tub. It’s also located on the roof. By day, this is a quiet pool area with amazing views and a beautiful place to sit and relax. In the evening, there is live music.
Beautiful Accommodations
There is a wide range of options between these two resorts. Royal Barbados is all club level and butler suites that include tranquility soaking tubs. These suites are beautiful with the new Sandals look of light colors, modern interiors, and clean lines. Royal Barbados also has beautiful rondovals available in the quiet/garden area of the resort. For stunning beach and ocean views, you may want to look at the Stargazer building in the Seaside Village. These beachfront butler suites are luxurious and stunning.
At Sandals Barbados, there is a wide range of options from luxury to butler level. This resort has a combination of traditional Sandals rooms with dark woods and four-poster beds along with rooms that are modern styles. These rooms get you right in the middle of the action with most restaurants being on this side of the resort. Looking for ocean views? Check out the Beach Front Village and the Royal House building. This location has a variety of room types and higher rooms will have better ocean views. If you are looking for a quiet area, you may find the Caribbean Village the place to be. It is centrally located and near the quiet pool. These luxury rooms are a great value.
Activities
With these two resorts together, you will find plenty to do. From the main infinity pool with fun activities to two spa areas, a beautiful beach, and even a bowling alley, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Looking for a quiet garden view? They have that too. There are multiple quiet pools, gardens to walk through, and areas to relax.
The beach is lively with some great surf. There is a lagoon to create a more swimmable area, but it is fun to go out and jump in the waves of the beautifully clear water. There is a water sports area with boogie boards, Hobie Cats, kayaks, and more, but it may be too rough to use some of those. Perfect for boogie boarding, though!
Two Resorts in One
Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados are two resorts in one. Other than check in and check out at your home resort, you will find yourself wandering the property and not knowing when you left one and entered the other. It is seamless access to two properties for the price of one.
We highly recommend visiting Barbados. The people are amazing, the resorts are beautiful, and you will want to come back again and again.
