Sandals South Coast
Allison
What made you choose Sandals South Coast for this trip?
Tania
With our group, I wanted somewhere that there was something for everyone. This is my favorite resort for clients and the one I’ve had clients want to return to.
Allison
Let’s start with your arrival in Jamaica. You added Club Mobay to your arrival and departure. Tell us what it was like to arrive in Montego Bay, Jamaica and if you would recommend this service.
Tania
Yes, yes, yes! I totally recommend this service. One, you feel like a celebrity when they meet you with your name as soon as you get off the plane. This also gives you peace of mind. It can be scary to arrive in a new country at a new airport and it feels so good to know you have someone walking with you every step of the way. We didn’t have to guess if we were at the correct place or doing the correct thing.
Allison
Then you were at the Sandals Lounge. Talk about what the lounge included and your trip to Sandals South Coast.
Tania
With Club Mobay, you have an option of the Sandals Lounge and the Club Mobay Lounge. At both, you can get drinks and snacks. Club Mobay has more things like sandwiches, something Sandals Lounge does not. Both are really nice and people are very friendly. Here’s a little tip for those traveling. You can take drinks and food for the road since you will have about a 1.5 hour ride to the resort. There was also a stop on the way to the resort if you needed to use the restroom. You get to see small towns and a little bit about Jamaica on the trip to the resort.
Allison
Let’s talk about the resort. For those that are not familiar with Sandals properties, they have three levels of service at all their properties including Luxury, Concierge, and Butler. At Sandals South Coast, the resort is broken up into three villages – Italian Village, Dutch Village, and the French Village. Tell us about what type of room you had, where it was, and why you chose it.
Tania
We were in the Dutch Beachfront Club Level Suite with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. The other couples stayed in the Dutch Beachfront Luxury Room with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub. Even though we had different room categories, we were all very close. I love the Dutch Village and that is where I send most of my clients when at South Coast. The main reason is that all the rooms have an ocean view. Most people going to a tropical destination want to see the ocean from their room. I know here they will definitely see the ocean. The view is so amazing. Dutch Village is in the middle of the French and Italian Villages, but it is not a bad walk to get food. For drinks, you have a bar at your pool and Latitudes Over-the-Water bar is just a step from the Dutch Village. Our friends commented that they loved the location of our rooms. Even at the pool, you can see the ocean.
Allison
I know you also did a tour of the resort. Can you share with us some of the other room options and anything that really blew you away? This property is truly beautiful!
Tania
Like you mentioned previously, they do have three villages, but they also have South Seas Rondoval Village and the Over-the-Water Bungalows. During my stay, all of the Over-the-Water Bungalows were occupied, but I did get to view the Rondoval Village and those rooms and sections of the resort is its own little paradise. The rooms are swim out rooms and each room has its own private plunge pool. These rooms are all butler rooms.
Allison
The most important thing to me is the food. Tell us about the dining options and what were some of your favorite experiences.
Tania
There are only two restaurants that require reservations and those can be made when you arrive on property. If you have a butler, they can take care of the reservations for you. We enjoyed room service every morning. Sushi on the Sand was my favorite experience, but we also loved Jasmines. I enjoyed the surf and turf at Eleanor’s too.
Allison
For some, it is all about the pools, beaches, and activities. Tell us about the beach and activities at this resort, including the evening entertainment.
Tania
The beach was beautiful with lots of areas to sit. We never had a problem finding a spot for our group of eight to sit together. You can also go to the main pool where the most activity was. We spent most mornings on the beach and then afternoons at the pool in the Dutch Village. We enjoyed the water sports and used the kayaks and other boats. Some of our friends snorkeled everyday. In the evening, there was a different vibe with fire pits, a theater with a nightly show or entertainment, and musicians around the resort. They had a white night with chocolate party and even a silent disco.
Allison
How about the spa? One of my favorite parts of a vacation with my husband is some time at the spa.
Tania
We really enjoyed the spa experience. You have the option of an outdoor or indoor spa experience. We had a wonderful couples massage with a candle ceremony that was really romantic and special. The great thing to know is you can use the spa facilities, such as the cold plunge pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. even if you don’t have a spa appointment.
Allison
I know you have a lot of clients that choose Sandals South Coast as a vacation destination. Who do you recommend this resort for? What types of clients will want to consider Sandals South Coast for their couples’ vacations?
Tania
This resort is great for honeymoons and anniversaries, first-timers to an all-inclusive or destination out of the country, and groups of adult couples. There is something for everyone. There is an amazing beach and Club Mobay makes it easy. Everyone who visits South Coast has a great time.
