Do you have a travel bucket list? Do you want one? We want to help you create your travel bucket list. Have a listen for six different areas to help you fill in your bucket list.
Family Heritage
Think about your family heritage. Do you know where your parents and grandparents were born? Do you have family foods or traditions that you would like to explore further? These can be great items to add to your bucket list. Kensington Tours works with Ancestry DNA to help you learn more about your heritage and then plan a trip that takes you to the places you came from.
Movies/Entertainment
Do you have a favorite movie that was filmed out of the country? Maybe a TV series that makes you want to experience it for yourself. Even books can draw you to want to learn more about a specific location. Lord of the Rings was filmed in New Zealand and you can visit some of these places on an excursion through Holland America Line.
Anne of Green Gables books take you to Prince Edward Island and you can visit via several cruise lines on a New England/Canadian cruise itinerary. Maybe you are a huge fan of Downton Abbey. An Adventures by Disney Trip to England will help you live out your story and stay in a castle. So many movies, books, and TV shows can add destinations to your bucket list.
Special Interests
If you have a personal interest in food or wine, visiting a winery or doing a food and wine-focused tour may be on your list. Maybe you want to learn to make pasta or taste your way across a country with a river cruise.
There is amazing architecture around the world and if you have studied it, then these things may be on your bucket list. The Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, The Colosseum in Rome, the Eiffel Tower, and so many others. You HAVE to see them in person. The same goes for art. There is nothing like seeing The Mona Lisa in person in The Louvre, The Trevi Fountain in Rome, or The Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.
Historical Events or Time Periods
Are you a history buff? Is there a part of history that is of particular interest to you? This may add some items to your travel bucket list. If you have an interest in World War II, you may want to do a tour that includes Normandy, Berlin, and Auschwitz or Pearl Harbor and areas in the South Pacific. History buffs may also dream of traveling to Ancient Egypt or Greece to see places like the Pyramids and the Parthenon.
Sports and Activities
Hobbies or sports are also items that are added to bucket lists. If you study martial arts like karate and Tai chi then China may be on your bucket list. Judo, Jujutsu, or Sumo may take you to Japan. What better way to understand these arts of fighting than learning more about their origins and taking a class with a local? If you are a golfer, hitting some of the best courses in the world in places like Ireland, New Zealand, and Scotland are bucket list items.
Missions and Religious Locations
Your religious beliefs can be another source of travel bucket list locations. Many Christians and Jews travel to the Holy Land in Israel. Others may have a passion for helping those that need clean water or medical support and travel on mission trips to countries around the world.
There are lots of reasons a destination may make it on your travel bucket list, but I hope these six travel bucket list ideas help you add new places to your list.
