First, let’s start with a short getaway. My favorite option for a long weekend is Discovery Cove. This is an amazing park in Orlando that is perfect for everyone ages 6 and up. Younger children can have fun, but will not be able to participate in animal encounters.
Who doesn’t want to swim with dolphins, snorkel with tropical fish, feed birds, and swim all day? This is an amazing all-inclusive day that includes meals, drinks, snacks, and so much more. Grandparents can come along and participate in all the activities or enjoy watching their grandchildren. Sea World and Aquatica can be added easily to this trip if you want to extend it beyond a few days.

4-Day Vacation Ideas
If you have a little more time you may want to do something for 4 to 5 days. Universal Orlando is my top pick for this category. This trip is perfect for those that are 54 inches and older. Universal has two parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. They also have an amazing water park, Volcano Bay, that may be an option depending on when you travel. If you have been reading the Harry Potter series, love Marvel movies, roller coasters, and adventure then this is the vacation for you.
When you stay at one of the premier hotels you even get an unlimited express pass included. They also have rider swap rooms at the boarding area of rides so you can all wait in line and experience the ride queue together, but not everyone has to ride. It’s perfect for little ones or grandparents. Universal is a compact, action-packed resort so you don’t waste time getting around and can make the most of a shorter vacation.

7-Day Vacation Options
If you are looking for a week-long vacation, my top pick is Disney. This is the perfect trip for all ages. There is something for everyone. With 4 parks to explore, everyone will have plenty to do. Staying at a Disney resort gives you even more perks such as early selection for dining reservations and great proximity to the parks. Multigenerational Trips
Another category I wanted to touch on is the multigenerational group. If you plan to take a trip with grandparents, parents, and kids there are some things to consider when there is a wide variety of ages. One of our favorite vacations for this is a cruise. On a cruise, there are different types of accommodations available and a variety of activities. Little ones can nap and teens can hang out. There are child care options so the adults can get together for some fun or you can all come together at dinner to discuss your adventures. I have planned many of these types of trips and they work out great.
