Who’s ready for the Perfect Day? A lot of the major cruise lines have created their own private islands, limited to just their guests. Royal Caribbean is no exception, and welcome their guests to spend the Perfect Day at CocoCay. CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Caribbean, which means to get there you have to set sail on one of their stellar ships.
The island is one giant excursion, with no cost to walk around and enjoy the beach. Unlike other Caribbean Islands, there are lots of activities centrally located within a short walk from the ship. Everything is within close proximity, to ensure the Royal Caribbean experience is perfect from start to finish. Including swimming, the beach, plenty of food and even a waterpark. Yes, CocoCay as their very own waterpark.
Beach Day Your Way
Perfect Day at CocoCay offers an incredible array of complimentary activities and dining options to explore. Or up the ante – and the adventure – with even more one -of-a-kind experiences for an additonal charge. The island is all about crafting a day unlike any other. Here are some of the highlights.
Thrill Waterpark
As we mentioned CocoCay has their own waterpark on site. What’s a better way to spend the day? You can relax at the beach while the kids enjoy the waterpark or be a kid yourself. And if you purchase your tickets before sailing, you can save a little money. While the lines are quite manageable at the park, the best time to shoot them faster is before 11 am 
and after 3 pm. Winding tube slides, daredevil plummets onboard the tallest waterslide in North America, and the biggest wave pool the Caribbean has ever seen all await you at Thrill Water Park.
Splashaway Bay
The coolest aqua park at sea is coming ashore at the largest Splashaway Bay yet. Kids can enjoy gallons of fun with more fountains, pools, and water cannons – plus five waterslides and two massive drench buckets. Everything at Splashaway Bay is complimentary so its the perfect place to enjoy the day.
Oasis Lagoon
Explore the different coves of the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, Oasis Lagoon, each with a vibe all its own. Splash right in at the kid-friendly sloping entr, swim up to the bar for a drink, or head to your cabana for total relaxation. Cabanas can accomodate up to 8 guest and can be rented for the day. Towels and chairs are complimentary to all guests.
Coco Beach Club
Kick back and cue the views in the first overwater cabanas in The Bahamas. Find your zen at the beachfront infinity pool and indulge in delectable Mediterranean fare. At Coco Beach Club, it’s nothing but good vibes. Included in the admission is complimentary dining at The Grille at Coco Beach Club, beach chairs, and towels. Children 3 and under are complimentary as well. Cabanas accommodate up to 8 and are available to rent. There are beach cabanas as well as overwater cabanas that have the club admission included in the cabana rental.
Captain Jack’s
The live jams and water views at this rum-runner’s harborside dive puts you in an island state of mind in no time. Grab a Coco Loco at the rowboat bar, or snack on Caribbean favorites like mango-habanero wings. The menu here is a la carte. You will also find Captain Jack’s Galleon as a great place to spash and play. We LOVE the food here and have to splurge on the wings.
Up, Up and Away
Heighten the adrenaline and score a view unlike any other on Up, Up and Away, a helium balloon that floats up to 450 feet above Perfect Day at CocoCay – It’s the highest vantage point in The Bahamas! There is both adult and children’s pricing for this experience and it can be booked ahead in your cruise planner.
Hideaway Beach
In 2023, Royal Caribbean added a new adults area called Hideaway Beach. This is where the adults can go to hang out and party on the beach. This lively area has a DJ and lots of fun.

There are beach rentals such as kayaks, snorkels, beach umbrellas, spa services, cabanas, and day beds all available to rent to make your day even more enjoyable. Keep in mind there are complimentary meals at Skipper’s Grill and Chill Grill as well as 3 complimentary Snack Shacks around the island. Beach Chairs and towels are always complimentary at both Oasis Lagoon and the two complimentary beach area; Chill Island and South Beach. The island also has tram service and fresh water showers.
How to Have the Perfect Day
There are a few things you need to make sure your day is perfect, but not a lot. You will need your SeaPass card, some cash (local artists only take cash, along with tipping of your cabana wait staff), beach towels and closed toe shoes (if you are going to ride the zip line). Of course you will need other “common” beach accessories like sunglasses, reef safe sunscreen, rash guard and anything else you would need to protect you from the sun. A small bag to help carry all of this is also helpful.
The really good news is since this island is owned by Royal Caribbean, some of your onboard perks work here as well. For example, your Deluxe Beverage Package works on the island, along with the Royal Refreshment package and the Soda Package. Of course souvenir cups, coconuts and a few other things are not included, just like on the ship. You VOOM package will also work while on shore, which is another added perk.
