Maybe you are at Disney Springs as part of your Disney vacation or maybe you are in Orlando for other reasons and looking for something to do with the kids. Here are our best ideas that your kids will enjoy.
Top 5 Best Activities for Kids at Disney Springs
Marketplace Carousel
Who doesn’t love a ride on the carousel? This Venetian carousel is located in the center of the Marketplace section of Disney Springs. There is a small fee to ride and the carousel runs from about 10am to 11:30pm daily. It can be a fun ride for the kids (kids and kids at heart) and can be a great break from shopping.
Marketplace Train Express
After a ride on the carousel you might want to take the kids for a ride on the train. This ride is best for children since the trains are small. There is also a small fee to ride and the train also runs from 10am to 11:30pm daily.
Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex Cafe
These exciting restaurants are both located in Disney Springs. Whether you prefer the rainforest theme or the dinosaur theme you find a fun place to have lunch or dinner. The pricing and menu is similar but they each have their unique touches. Even if you don’t plan to eat there you can stop in to check out the store and some activities. There are often some birds outside the Rainforest Cafe that you can see. At the T-Rex cafe you can play at the dig site where there are pebbles to dig through and find bones or “Build a Dino” where you can create your own special stuffed dino. Keep in mind that both restaurants “come alive” about every 20 min with noises, lights, and effects that might be scary to very young children. It only last a few minutes so preparing little ones can be helpful.
The Disney dining plan is accepted and meals are 1 table credit. You can also use Disney gift cards or Landry gift cards. Reservations are preferred but you may be able to get a walk up during an off time.
The Lego Store
Although there are lots of shopping opportunities one of our favorite stores for children is the Lego Store. Besides having lots and lots of lego kits to purchase this can be a great place for the kids to play. They have tables outside full of legos where they can make their own creations. Its a place the kids can burn off some creative steam. They also have a wall of legos where you can purchase a small or large bucket and fill it with any of the legos they want from the wall. Its a great chance to get the pieces you need. The store is located just down from the T-Rex Cafe and World of Disney Store. You can also use Disney gift cards to shop here.
Bibbidi Bobbodi Boutique
Take your prince and/or princess to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a royal makeover. This experience definitely needs a reservation and they can be made 180 days in advance. It is reserved for children 3-12 years old. This is the same experience (although a larger venue) as the boutique in Magic Kingdom and can be a great alternative when you are not in the parks to have this experience. Your planner can help you make the reservation.
M&M Store
I know we said 5 things but we had to add an honorable mention for kids new favorite place, the M&M Store. With a wall of M&Ms to choose from it is a kids paradise. So much fun and a great place to stop in.
As you can see, a day at the Springs can be fun for families too. Some rides, a fun meal, and some shopping perfect for kids can help you have a fun day at Disney Springs and sprinkle some Disney magic into your day.
