Welcome to Travel Talk’s 2023 Recap! A year bursting with adventure, exploration, and learning experiences for our team of dedicated agents. From the enchanting realms of Orlando’s Walt Disney World and Universal Studios to the West Coast’s Disneyland. But, our voyages didn’t stop there. We’ve crossed oceans and rivers, embarking on over 30 cruises, exploring Alaska, the Greek Isles, Europe, and embracing the captivating charm of river cruising. Not just confined to water, our feet touched lands across Europe, the Caribbean, and Mexico, ensuring firsthand knowledge to enrich your travel plans.
Listen as we bid farewell to an incredible year! We extend heartfelt gratitude to you all for your support as you shared our journey through our podcasts. Here’s to a new year filled with magical memories and countless adventures alongside your loved ones, inspired by our 2023 expeditions!
Orlando, Florida
First, let’s take a look at our most popular destinations in Orlando, Florida. Things are always changing and there are so many seasonal offerings that it is important we frequent these destinations. Our team had over 38 personal visits to Walt Disney World. This doesn’t include our content creator, Misty, who lives nearby and is usually there on opening day or for a passholder preview of the new attractions like Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana that opened at Epcot this year or Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios that premiered last month.
We also love Universal Studios Orlando where we had over 14 visits, not including our content creator, Misty, who was there for Mardi Gras, Halloween Horror Nights, and the Christmas decorations.
California
Let us not forget about California though. We had a great training session at Disneyland in early 2023 where 12 of our agents spent a few days.
We had a busy schedule, including site inspections of four hotels on Harbor Blvd, walkthroughs of two of Disney’s onsite hotels, classroom style training sessions, and a day at Universal Hollywood.
We had a blast at Super Nintendo World Hollywood and rode Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge.
Cruising
Now, let’s head out to sea! We’ve been all over this year when it comes to cruises, traveling on over 30 cruises on both rivers and oceans.
We sailed on all the Disney ships, including several on the new Disney Wish as well as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Holland America Line, Virgin Voyages, and Princess Cruises. What is even more exciting is we haven’t just sailed the Caribbean and Bahamas, but we traveled to Alaska, the Greek Isles, and Europe.
We have also done about 10 ship inspections. Ship inspections are a great opportunity for us to see and learn a lot about a ship and what it has to offer without taking the trip. We board in the morning, tour staterooms, public spaces, and dining rooms, and get off before the ship sets sail. There is great energy during these inspections because you are in the port with all the cruisers excited to board the ship and set sail on their vacation. It is a little sad though knowing you are heading home that afternoon.
Another great experience added to our portfolio this year is river cruising. I took my first river cruise with AmaWaterways and it was amazing. I sailed on the Rhine River and visited Switzerland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands all without ever having to pack up and move.
We have two group cruises available with special rates for 2024 and 2025. Let us know if you are interested in learning more.
Europe
If the water is not your thing then you will be happy to know that we took many land trips this year too. Our agents visited Europe and explored London, Italy, France, Scotland, and Ireland to name a few. This is a region where it is so important for us to be in a destination to bring back the most valuable information for our clients.
Caribbean and Mexico
Another area with lots of land travel is the Caribbean and Mexico. Five of our agents traveled to Beaches Turks and Caicos last month. It was a great experience to not only tour the resort and see many of the room categories, but to spend time with leadership and learn about social media, photography, and more.
In addition, our agents traveled to Jamaica, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Mexico and stayed at different brand resorts, including Sandals, Beaches, Secrets, Dreams, Couples, and Palace Resorts.
Magical Memories
As a team, we work together to help each other, so when you book with a MMP agent you are getting the knowledge of the group.
