Tired of the hustle and bustle this holiday season and want to do something different next year? Perhaps you are traveling to the theme parks during the holidays or want to put a trip under the tree? Here is a roundup of what is happening at our favorite theme parks that you can enjoy this year or something similar next year.
Universal Studios Orlando
Universal Orlando has the Macy’s Parade and special concerts from Mannheim Steamroller on December 4, 5, 11, and 12, 2021. Now that is an amazing way to celebrate! At Islands of Adventure, they celebrate with Grinchmas activities and for the Harry Potter fans, Christmas lights on Hogwarts Castle and warm butterbeer.
For the shoppers, there is a holiday tribute store, a holiday tree hunt, and of course, seasonal treats. The hotels have carolers, special Christmas decorations, tree lighting ceremonies, and holiday buffets at some restaurants. There will also be Menorah lighting ceremonies and New Year’s Eve parties. So many great ways to get the season started!
Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is magical during the holidays with lots of events and festive fun. Throughout the resorts are holiday decorations, including the gingerbread houses. There are special holiday food items and you can find them all in the holiday food guide.
At Hollywood Studios, see Sunset Seasons Greetings, a projection show on the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Dine with Minnie and friends at Hollywood and Vine. Santa Claus Motorcade drives down Hollywood Boulevard in a candy-apple red convertible. Plus, the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration has a special guest in the finale, Olaf.
Disney Springs is having the Christmas Tree Stroll again this year where you can find elaborately decorated Christmas trees through the neighborhood of Disney Springs. Snow can be found in the West Side in the evenings too! Check out Jack Lindey’s Hangar Bar Holiday Takeover. This is such a fun place to hang out in the lounge and restaurant.
Epcot is hosting the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth. You can enjoy the holiday food and sweet treats of many countries from around the world. Don’t miss the Holiday Cookie Stroll too!
The Candlelight Processional is back this year as well.
Disneyland
At Disneyland, they celebrate with the Festival of the Holidays and pay tribute to festivals from around the world. In Disney’s California Adventure Park, you can revel in authentic holiday music, dance, and enjoy decor in the Paradise Garden Park as they celebrate Viva Navidad from November 12, 2021 to January 9, 2022.
Santa also visits Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and Carsland takes on the holidays with Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Jingle All the Way. These are two fun ways to bring the holidays to your family. Of course, throughout the parks and resorts, you will see beautiful holiday lights to put you in the holiday spirit.
