Universal’s Volcano Bay Opens May 25

Universal’s Volcano Bay

Universal’s Volcano Bay is opening May 25, 2017 and will become Universal Orlando Resort’s third theme park and first water park. Volcano Bay will feature incredibly immersive environments, exhilarating rides, relaxing escapes and amazing technology such as the TapuTapu Wearable that will eliminate the fuss and maximize the fun.

Universal’s Volcano Bay will introduce the amazing waterproof TapuTapu wearable for guests to use during their day. The TapuTapu is designed specifically and exclusively for use in Universal’s water theme park, it will transform the way you experience water theme park entertainment at Volcano Bay.

According to Universal, “The TapuTapu wearable gives you the ability to enjoy the new Virtual Line. You’ll walk up to the totem in front of an attraction entrance and with just a simple tap, receive a return time for that attraction. The TapuTapu then allows you to virtually wait in line so you can enjoy other areas of Volcano Bay while you wait. Each one of Volcano Bay’s four imaginatively-themed areas is filled with incredible experiences for all ages – so you don’t have to go far to have fun while you wait.”

The Taputapu will make this amazing park even better making attractions come to life and letting you know what attractions are ready for you. You won’t even have to carry tubes to your rides.

We can help you book your next Universal Vacation and include all 3 parks for the ultimate vacation!

Sandals Vacation Tips

There is nothing more romantic than some time away with the one you love in the Caribbean. Sandals resorts are designed for couples in love. We have some Sandals vacation tips to help you plan that romantic getaway.

Sandals vacation tips

Dinner at Sunset at Sandals Royal Caribbean

The first and most important of our Sandals vacation tips is to book with a travel agency that is a Certified Sandals Specialist, such as Magical Memory Planners. We will look out for you and help you plan something magical and romantic.

Sandals Vacation Tips Before You Go

The next set of Sandals vacation tips are things to pre-plan. Once you have booked with us there are only a few things to pre-plan. The first is a romantic candlelight dinner. This can be a very special way to start or end a trip.

You can also schedule a couples massage or another treatment at the spa. Some resorts such as Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandal Royal Caribbean have therapy rooms outside right on the ocean. Book these treatments in advance so you can get the perfect spot for your massage.

You can also pre-book a free photo session. Think about the time and what you want to wear so it doesn’t interrupt your day. We like to do our photo session in our evening clothes at 4:30pm so we can go to dinner after and don’t have to get changed again. If you have a butler, and you really should, be sure to fill out your butler preferences before you go.

Sandals Vacation Tips For Packing

What should you pack? Besides the obvious bathing suits, sunscreen, and resort casual clothing you may want to pack a few things to make the trip more romantic like battery operated candles, some fragrance beads, or bubble bath.

This set of a dozen candles flicker like real candles and are just enough to put around your room and bathroom. They have on/off switches so they should last your whole stay.

Since you will be flying internationally you may want to get a nice passport wallet to hold all your travel documents too.

Be ready for adventure when you arrive with a waterproof case for your phone and a dry bag if you are doing excursions where you could get wet. Beach towel clips are great so that your towel doesn’t blow away. You can find all our recommendations for products in our store on Amazon.  You won’t need much cash but be sure you have enough. There are always vendors selling local products and you may want to get some souvenirs from them. There are porters at the airport as well as your transfer driver that you may want to tip. You may also want to tip your guides if you take an excursion.

Sandals Vacation Tips With A Butler

Sandals vacation tipsDo you have a room with a butler? I hope so because you will LOVE it! In order to make the experience even more amazing we have some Sandals vacation tips for our butler clients. As I mentioned before you will want to fill out your butler preference sheet before arrival. That will help you butler know your likes/dislikes and how they can help you.

Upon arrival at the resort your butlers will give you a phone so you can be in contact with your butler as needed. When you talk to you butler on the way to dinner they may ask you, “What are your plans for tomorrow?” Be prepared to let them know where you want to be such as the pool or beach, shade or sun, party area or quiet area. This will help the butler pick the perfect spot for you. Let them know what you like to drink so they can fill your cooler with the right things such as beer, juice, or bottled water.

Let your butler know where you would like to go for dinner and what time, even if it’s not a Sandals Vacation Tipslocation that requires a reservation. They will meet you there and be sure you have a great spot waiting for you. We prefer to eat outside at 6pm so that we eat dinner through sunset. Let you butler know if he should pick you up at your room, just meet you at the restaurant, or if you are stopping someplace for a pre-dinner drink. Of course you can just do what you like and the butler will work around your schedule so you can be spontaneous if you want. Lastly, since you can/should tip your butler be sure to pack enough cash to do so. You can charge your butler gratuity to your room account if you prefer.

We hope these Sandals vacation tips will help you get the most of your romantic getaway. We would love to help you plan something truly memorable for you and your loved one. You can fill out our free vacation quote form and we will be in touch.

Our 2017 Birthday Club

Image may contain: one or more people

We invite you to sign your children (birth to 18) up for our 2017  birthday club. It is so simple. All you have to do is fill out the form and your child will receive a Disney themed post card on their birthday with well wishes. Every child loves to receive mail so why not something especially for their birthday.

Fill out this Birthday Club form with up to 3 children’s names. If you have more than 3 children in your family you can fill out a second form. We don’t want anyone left out! The month of their birthday they will get a special post card that wishes them a happy birthday. It is like magic! It won’t say who its from (they probably don’t know who we are anyway) so their little mind can wonder who sent it. Was it Mickey? One of the princesses? Who knows? It will just add to the fun.

We work with families every day to help them plan special memories in Disney World, on a Disney Cruise, or at many other places around the world. Our Birthday Club program is just a fun little way for us to give you some Disney magic in between trips. None of the information you give us will be shared with anyone else so don’t worry.

We wish you a magical, safe, happy, and healthy 2017!

Disney World, the Happiest Place on Earth ….but what if you are sick at Disney World??

Disney World, the Happiest Place on Earth ….but what if you are sick at Disney World??

I’ve always loved Disney World. I was able to bring my family there for the first time, many years ago. My kids were 6 & 8 years old. It was like the commercials… I was so excited, I couldn’t sleep the night before. I had been wanting to take my family to Disney for so long, and now we were finally going! It was a great first trip- we were hooked!!

I have since gone 34 more times, Today I am a frequent Disney World guest. But now I go also to see my daughter to whom I gave the love of Disney to. She started the Disney College program in Jan 2014 and fell in love with Disney.  In Aug 2014, after completing her college program, she was hired as a part time cast member. Today she is a full time cast member climbing the Disney ladder, working as a Custodial Coordinator at Animal Kingdom – and loving it! I visit her 4-5 times a year now.

Let’s now fast forward to one of my most recent trips. I was going to Walt Disney World for a girls weekend. We were attending  Night of Joy, a concert that was being held at Wide World of Sports.  As usual, I came in a day early to visit with my daughter, and we (along with her boyfriend) had a wonderful day at Epcot. I should tell you that the crowds were so small that day, that we were able to walk right onto Soarin’!!! My friends flew in the following day to meet up with me.  We were going to have fun…whoo hoo, just us girls! So we started the trip at Disney Springs with a little shopping, and a great meal at Raglan Road. It was a great trip so far!

The next day I woke up feeling fine. So off we went to Blizzard Beach – one of the top water parks in the county! It was so much fun! On the last ride, I was walking up the steps to the slide, and I started having trouble catching my breath – so much so, that it scared me. But I figured I had gained a little weight and I was just really out of shape. So I proceeded to go down the slide, catching my breath by the time I got to the bottom. It was at that time I realized that something wasn’t right. From that point on, it actually hurt to breath. Was I coming down with something? Was I going to be sick at Disney World? Well,  I was at Disney World, and nothing gets you down at the “happiest place on earth”… right? Ha! So I kept on going. We went back to the room to get ready for the concert and I just wasn’t feeling right. I was having trouble breathing – could it be asthma?,or the flu? I didn’t know- I just knew it was something.

Now remember, I wasn’t with my family. I was with friends that hadn’t been to Disney as much as I had been. I didn’t want to bring their trip down. So what should I do?? I really didn’t know. So I decided to go to the concert. As I sat there, I started feeling terrible (like a truck hit me kind of terrible). I finally ended up going to the First Aid stand. It was barely an hour into the night. Yep, I was sick, I had a 102.7 fever. I never get sick like that. But that night I felt so bad, that I ended up calling a cab. I left my friends at the concert and went back to the hotel. But I still couldn’t breath. So after a night of struggling to breath, I called the front desk and asked for advice on what to do. They explained that there was an Urgent Care Facility nearby. They would send a van to pick me up and then return me to the hotel – free of charge. They gave me the number of the facility and  I called, and called, but they didn’t answer. Ugh – why me, really?? So I went to the front desk asking for help, again. They could see that I looked like death. They were so kind to me. They gave me a voucher for a cab. And off we went. My friend Karen was kind enough to ride with me. It was about a 15 minute ride to get there. The facility was located right outside of Disney Springs. When we got there, one other person was in the waiting room. I was called in within 10 min. Upon entering, I noticed that it looked exactly like an emergency room in a hospital. They started tending to me rather quickly.  After getting a chest x-ray, I was diagnosed with pneumonia!! They gave me breathing treatments, antibiotics, 2 prescriptions and a ride back to the hotel.  At least I knew what was going on now. I napped for the next 2 days, until it was time to come home.

So Disney is even the best when it comes to getting you medical treatment, providing great  care, even when you get sick at Disney on vacation!

Well it took a good 2-3 weeks to finally feel better – but I am now at 100%.  I wanted to share my experience with you, so in that rare instance that you get sick at Disney World while on vacation you know that there is a system in place to get you great treatment, and rather swiftly I should say!!

If you are feeling sick at Disney World be sure to go straight to the front desk to get the assistance you need or a first aid station at the parks.

5 Things to do BEFORE you leave the country on vacation

Heading on a cruise or other vacation that is going to take you out of the country? Check out these 5 Things to do BEFORE you leave the country on vacation!

5 things to do before you leave the country on vacation

  1. Get an app that you can talk over wifi..whats app fb messenger, etc. Make sure the people you want to communicate with have access to that app. Test it out before you go and make sure you have the right contact etc.
  2. Make 2 copies  of your passports front page and your travel insurance information. Give one set to someone at home and bring the other set with you and keep it in a safe place separate from your originals.
  3. Put a travel advisory on your credit card. First check to see which of your credit cards have the lowest foreign transaction fees. Once you determine that you will need to contact them and let them know about your travel plans. Also be sure you you have that credit card info and the emergency number for that card written down separately in case you lose your card and you need to contact the company to report it lost or stollen. You can keep that with you and/or leave the info with someone not traveling.
  4. Get local currency. If you are traveling to a country that doesn’t  take American money you will want to understand what the exchange rate is, what the fees are with your bank, or what fees you will pay if you withdraw cash from an atm internationally. This will help you make a good decision while you are traveling.
  5. Put you phone in airplane mode once you leave the country. This will protect you from racking up roaming fees. You will still be able to get on wifi to use the internet.

Have a magical vacation and be safe!!
