Disney Cruise Line is for more than just Families!
Disney Cruise Line for Adults!
Have you ever had a Dream to sail with Disney Cruise Line? Do you often Wonder if being an adult will not have the usual Disney Magic you would think of? Is it your Fantasy to take a cruise?
Well, no need to fret! There are many things you can do aboard a Disney Cruise that are for adults only. You will not feel that you have to have little ones with you or that you are overwhelmed by families on your cruise. There are many different itineraries that you can choose from: Transatlantic, Alaska, Mediterranean, Eastern & Western Caribbean, and Bahamas, and all of these offer many adult only activities and locations!
Recently, I had the opportunity to sail on the Disney Magic for training. Since this was for training, I was without my kids and family and had wondered if I would find enough to do that was for adults. There was no need to worry!
Is there anywhere to eat that is for adults only on Disney Cruise Line?
YES!!! If you are looking at an amazing adult only dining experience, you can make reservations for Palo. They have dinner reservations, and on the day(s) at sea, they also offer a brunch. The cost of this adult dining experience is $25 per person, but definitely well worth it! Expect your meal experience to last at least 2 hours, but time will fly! If you are sailing on the Fantasy or Dream, you can also make a reservation for Remy. The cost for Remy is a $75 per person.
If you are looking for a more adult centered dining rotation, you can request the second seating. Since it is a little later, families tend to want an earlier dining time for their kids. Disney does do an amazing job of trying to seat people that are traveling with others that are like them, or you can request private seating as well.
But what is there to do?
LOTS!!! All of the ships have an adult area pool and hot tubs. You can sit here and relax and enjoy the adult only area. A much more relaxed vibe than sitting by the family pool. There is Senses Spa on each of the ships as well. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage, or a couples massage. There are facials, pedicures, manicures. Talk about relaxing!
There are also the adult only entertainment districts on each ship. Every night you will receive a Navigator in your room. It will tell you the adult activities and where to find them and when. They have different activities, events, shows, classes that are just for adults! There are different beverage seminars available, cooking demonstrations, games, dancing, music, you name it! There are also the nightly shows before or after your dining rotation. There are also first run movies shown on all of the ships. Recently on the Magic, they were showing Frozen, Saving Mr. Banks, Monsters University, and Thor: The Dark World.
Is there anything to do off of the ships?
There are many different excursions that are offered depending on which itinerary you choose to sail.
What is for adults on Castaway Cay?
Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, offers an adult only beach, Serenity Bay. At this beach they offer their own dining area, a bar, and just lots of relaxation. Castaway Cay also offers their own excursions, so be sure to check them out and register in advance! There is also the Castaway Cay 5k. You have to be at least 12 years old to participate so it really is an adult only race. Not really a race, it is free, everyone receives a medal for finishing. It is a great way to see the island before everyone else gets off the ship!
There is so much to do and see that you will run out of time! It truly is a great cruise to do as an adult. You know it will be top notch because it is Disney after all!
So, now that you know there are many different things for adults to do, what are you waiting for? It doesn’t matter if you are traveling without kids or with the family and want to enjoy some time just for adults. You know you want to try it out! Once you do sail on a Disney Cruise, you will want to rebook while on board for another fun experience (and a great deal)!
